Energy Vision — Making Sustainability Data Understandable

Context

Sustainability decisions require stakeholders to interpret interconnected information across energy consumption, emissions, renewable energy, efficiency and long-term scenarios.

Scope

Scenario-based portfolio case using a public global energy dataset.

From Global Energy Consumption dataset

Problem

The challenge was not simply providing access to sustainability data.

It was helping stakeholders understand relationships, compare alternatives and explore what different scenarios could mean.

My Role

Product analytics & UX-led concept design combining:

Information architecture · KPI definition · Scenario design · Stakeholder needs · Data communication

Key Decisions

Translated multi-dimensional sustainability data into consistent indicators

Structured the experience around comparison and scenario analysis rather than static reporting

Separated high-level information from deeper country and scenario analysis

Outcome

Created an experience translating complex sustainability information into comparable, explorable and easier-to-understand decision views.

The concept progressively moves users from high-level understanding toward deeper comparison and scenario exploration.

Decision Impact Summary

Key Insight

Complex enterprise information becomes more useful when users can move progressively from overview to comparison to exploration.

Decision Supported

Support stakeholders in comparing energy, emissions and efficiency patterns and exploring alternative scenarios.

Business Impact

Enable clearer strategic conversations around energy mix, efficiency and decarbonisation trade-offs.
